He completed a Masters of Research from the University of Oxford MRES (oxon) & Bachelor of Science with 1st class honours from the University of Leeds BSc

He has completed a Diploma in Teaching (PGDipLathe) and Certification in Health Informatics CHIA

With over 15 years of experience, with extensive experience in reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery and more than 30,000 procedures performed, 

Dr. Rughani brings a high level of surgical expertise to the field of plastic surgery in Brisbane, ensuring a strong commitment to patient safety. 

Since 2019, Staff Specialist Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, performing major cancer and trauma surgery.

He is one of few surgeons in Australia to hold both surgical fellowships (by examination) from both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons in England. 

Board Certified Cosmetic Plastic Surgeon — Australian & New Zealand Board of Cosmetic Plastic Surgery (ANZBCPS).

Member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

Founding Member, Australian Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery.
